Room to Improve

Hello everyone!

First of all I'm so excited to start blogging and I have a few ideas up my sleeve that I hope will be appreciated.

For my first post I have decided to write about my room.

Yesterday I decorated my bedroom so that it has now become a place I never want to leave. My sanctuary, my temple (I'm not a recluse I swear <.<)

My room is at the top of a three story terraced house. I'm living with my retro uncle and aunt for college and let me tell you, its the best. Anyway, this is it.

Bed Area

Basically, I've been collecting posters and cut outs from magazines that I like for over two years. a lot of the stuff I like is dated so its harder to find (Blur, hello). I got some cute stuff from calendars as well that are of no use any more.

Its a nice habit to get into; collecting scraps you like that might come of use in the future. I like to use a little folder.

Wall opposite bed

I've seen it on Tumblr and Instagram; a quote cut out from magazine pages. A wonderful idea. I chose a lyric from The Rocky Horror Picture Show "Don't Dream It, Be It". I played Rocky (ikr)in a local production and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The quote is also quite mantra-like (plus small enough to fit on my wall) so I went ahead and used it. I got the Chat Noir poster in a poster sale for 3 euro and the drawings to the left are by myself and some friends.

Mirror

Yup you guessed it, no mirror is complete without some fairy lights. Keep me feeling like a princess every day.

That's it. Hey presto

Tips
-Collect stuff you like from magazines, calendars, whatever for future endeavours.
-Invest in some cheap fairy lights for a pop of light.
-Make a magazine mantra to kick start every day with positive vibes.
-Cool patterned bed sheets are always fun.

Ciao for Now
